Condyloid joint Version 2
One issue with the original joint was, when fitting the internal ball part, the outside could split. A thicker outside was then printed however this lack in flexabliity caused it to fail very quickly.
To solve this issue, the outer was rinted in two parts, so it could be closed around the ball, removing the risk of splitting.
This design printed perfectly, the support material cameaway without leaving any flashing to be cleaned up.
The tolerance on this joint may be increased, as the joint is currently quite stiff and does not move as freely as the hinge joints on the rest of the finger.
Also, the joint may be shrunk in size, as it is by far the widest part fo the finger, and may intefere with other fingers when mounted on a hand.
